In August 1979 the young engineer, Bernhard Brauer, registered his business in Dingden.
Repair and assembly work for the paper industry were the areas of growth for the young business.
BRAUER Maschinentechnik GmbH was founded in the year 1987. With 16 employees at the time and in new business premises at the Bocholt site, gear construction and repairs for almost all industrial applications could be developed.
Just a few years later in 1995 and 1998 strategic expansions took place to give the company a better and wider position on the market. Gears with up to 35t were already being processed at this time.
In the year 2001, the limited company was changed into a joint stock company. This created more opportunities for employees to participate in the company's success and set up the perfect structures for permanent development for the future.
After continual expansions between the years 2002 and 2010 and extensive annual investment in systems and machines, around 600-700 gear units per year are now processed on around 10,000 m² of production space by 50 employees. The gears come from all industries and generally extend from a few hundred kilograms through to a 100t unit weight or more.
The current members of the board and representatives of the second generation, who have all been involved with the company for many years, will continue to successfully develop the business in the future, just like over the past years, with clever strategies.
